Tadashi & Irina
Our Story
Once upon a time, two colleagues, Tadashi and Irina, sat together to talk about our jobs, challenges, careers, and such. Very quickly the conversation crossed the boundaries of an ordinary chit-chat. We were now wondering how we could help professionals like ourselves from all over the globe to thrive and grow in a tough academic environment. Suddenly, the idea of creating a nurturing, resourceful and supportive community came up. It felt right, it felt big, it felt moja.
This was the end of 2020, the first year of COVID-19 pandemic when the world was adjusting to a new normal… Over the next 6 months, the mojaview project energized our minds until it took off as a separate entity ready to be shaped up by our thoughts, experiences, and your feedback into something beautiful, useful, and, of cause, fun!

I am a neuroscientist, an educator, and a career coach who helps professionals from all over the globe to find jobs, navigate complex work environments, and create lives they always wanted. For the past 4 years, I have had a pleasure working with an incredibly diverse international population of academics from 40+ countries in Okinawa, Japan. My days have been filled with understanding peculiar challenges of cross-cultural communication as well as finding creative ways to flourish as a third space professional, aka. scientist-turn-to-research-administrator, in academia and beyond.
Born in Russia, I studied literature and linguistic until I moved to the US in search for my true calling. While the search wasn’t quite fruitful, it brought me to FL where I decided to pick up my education and completed B.S. in Biology and Ph.D. in Biomedical Sciences (Neuroscience) form the Medical School, University of South Florida. After 3-year postdoc at UT Southwestern, Dallas, TX, I found myself on a subtropical island of Okinawa exploring multiple professional identities and writing about academic professional and career development, coaching, and workplace well-being.

Hi, everyone! As a person who once devoted myself to science, I believe there is something that I can do for the research community. Every day my brain tries to figure out a good way to increase work efficiency, organize a good team, and teach the essentials of grant writing... I am keen on sharing my experience in these subjects with others. Aside from work-related matters, I am fond of photos and love my Leica M2 (1966). For refreshment, I listen to old rock music and watch movies, dramas.
